Sweepstakes are free giveaways run by brands. You fill out a form, you're in the drawing, and someone wins. That's really it. Companies do it because it gets their name in front of you. You do it because somebody has to win the trip, the truck, or the year of free coffee.
Here's how I'd get started if I were doing it all over again.
1. Make a separate email
Seriously, do this first. You'll get newsletters from a lot of sponsors. A free email just for sweepstakes keeps your real inbox clean, and it makes it easy to spot a winner notice when one shows up. Check it every day or two, including the spam folder.
2. Let your browser fill in the boxes
Most entry forms ask for the same stuff: name, email, address, phone, birthday. Save it in your browser's autofill and a form takes about 20 seconds. Don't use bots or anything that submits entries for you, though. That gets you disqualified.
3. Find sweepstakes worth entering
Stick to sweepstakes from real brands with official rules you can read. Browse what's open right now and filter by your state and age so you only see the ones you can actually win.
4. Read the rules (the quick way)
You don't need to read every word. Check who can enter, when it ends, and how often you can enter. That's covered in how to read official rules in 2 minutes.
5. Keep track
This is where most people fall off. You enter 15 sweepstakes on Monday, and by Thursday you can't remember which ones were daily. Pick a way to track them and stick with it.
That's exactly what SweepQueue is for. Save a sweepstakes and we'll remind you when you can enter again, so the daily ones don't slip.
